Kupwara, Mar 13: The Department of Roads and Buildings (R&B) in unison with PMGSY sub-division Kupwara have asked the local residents to vacate road-side encroachments within five days, failing to which departmental action is supposedly to be initiated under RD Act.
Assistant Executive Engineer R&B Division Kupwara while talking to Global News Service (GNS) that it has came to the notice of the department concerned that people have blocked roads and laid construction material near roads, which is hampering the public movement to a great deal.
“As such we have issued a public notice, asking any such person involved in the act, to vacate the illegally acquired space within next five days or else be ready to face action under law”, the official said.
Meanwhile when contacted Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam-ud-Din said that his office has directed R&B and PMGSY departments to start action if any of the person fails to come to terms with the notice issued.
It is worth to mention here that people in several areas of the district are facing problems in movement with the worst sufferers being the school-going children, who have been facing problems in reaching the school on time amid the unscrupulous scourge of the activity. (GNS)
